Minister Marion Hall, formerly Queen of Dancehall ‘Lady Saw’ is opening her own Jamaican restaurant, named Pot-Ah-Love in Florida.

This new spot, Pot-Ah-Love Jamaican Restaurant will open in June or July this year at Tamarac, at 6716 N University Drive. Hall explains the business was spawned from “helping to feed the homeless over the years. I used to cook food at the house and bring it to church and people really loved it, so I decided to do something with it.”

It is being launched in the University Commons shopping mall at the intersection of North University Drive and West McNab Road, where Pot-Ah-Love will offer a wide variety of dishes from Jamaican cuisine, including some things you normally only find served with a home-cooked meal.

Hall says the menu is still under development, but shared some of the dishes she plans to offer. “It will be sort of like a roadside place in Jamaica. There will be curry goat, curry chicken, jerk chicken, stew pork, jerk pork,” she said.

There will be breakfast such as ackee & saltfish, banana, dumplings, salt mackerel, boiled yams and more.
